Earth Recovery: From Awareness to Action
Reginald Patterson
Description

It is no longer enough to acknowledge climate change—this is the decisive decade for action. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has established a clear global benchmark: achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 is essential to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C and avoid the most severe and irreversible impacts of climate change.

Responding to this urgent call, ASEZ (Save the Earth from A to Z) leads community-driven climate action by addressing carbon emissions at both the individual and systemic levels. Through education, advocacy, and hands-on service, ASEZ empowers youth and local communities to reduce emissions embedded in everyday activities—such as energy use, waste generation, and consumption habits—while also protecting and restoring critical carbon sinks, including forests, coastal ecosystems, and oceans.

This session highlights how grassroots action directly supports global climate targets. Participants will explore practical strategies for reducing carbon footprints, safeguarding natural systems that absorb and store carbon, and mobilizing communities to act in alignment with science-based climate goals. By connecting international frameworks to local action, ASEZ demonstrates how youth leadership and collective responsibility can accelerate Earth’s recovery.

Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of why carbon neutrality matters, how everyday choices contribute to climate outcomes, and how coordinated community action can play a measurable role in building a resilient, climate-secure future.
