Description

Nature, climate, and communities are often treated as separate challenges—managed through different strategies, metrics, and institutions. But on the ground, these systems are deeply interconnected. When we optimize for one—like carbon—we can unintentionally undermine others, from biodiversity to water systems to local livelihoods.
This live recording of Nature Makes Sense brings together leaders working at the intersection of science, policy, and practice to ask a critical question: are we making restoration harder than it needs to be by keeping these priorities separate?

The conversation will explore who built this fragmented system, what it’s costing us, and what it looks like to design solutions that work across climate, nature, and communities at the same time. Featuring voices with real-world experience—from ecosystem management to public policy—this session grounds the discussion in practical decisions, not theory.
