The talk is based on a children's book and video of the same name that tells a story about bird migration and the challenges these face. In particular it traces the journey of the European White Storks as they travel to and back from Africa to a small town in Northern Germany. The book and animation are in part fairytale, but the talk focuses on the challenges caused by industry and climate to bird migration as well as how the townspeople in this small German town have chosen to live with and alongside nature.
