Speaker Bio
Grant Kendzior is a sustainability strategist, serial ecopreneur, and impact investor focused on helping businesses use sustainability as a competitive advantage to drive measurable environmental impact at scale. He is the CEO and Founder of Eco Breakthroughs and serves as Head of Strategic Partnerships at 4ocean, a global ocean cleanup organization that has removed over 50 million pounds of plastic from oceans, rivers, and coastlines worldwide.
Grant holds three business degrees from the University of Florida and a certificate in Sustainable Business Strategy from Harvard Business School. Over the past decade, he has brokered and advised on multi-million-dollar sustainability and impact-driven partnerships for some of the world’s most influential organizations, including Accenture, Sony, Nestlé, BlackRock, SC Johnson, the UFC (Endeavor/Disney), and numerous global consumer brands.
His connection to environmental work began early. Raised between the waters of Florida’s Gulf Coast and the wilderness of Montana’s Beartooth Mountains, Grant developed a deep bond with nature long before sustainability became a business imperative. A formative experience during the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico reshaped his path, revealing a hard truth: while governments and nonprofits are essential, business ultimately holds the power to either damage or protect the planet at scale.
That realization led Grant to shift his focus from marine biology to sustainable business systems. Despite significant challenges with dyslexia and a nontraditional academic path, he pursued business education with a singular goal of learning how to harness market forces for environmental good. Along the way, he studied social entrepreneurship, worked hands-on in emerging markets, and tested sustainability models with entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and local communities around the world.
Grant’s work has taken him to more than 60 countries and into environments ranging from indigenous villages and refugee camps to Fortune 100 boardrooms. He has spoken at the United Nations in Switzerland and at UNGA in New York, addressed more than 20,000 Sony employees globally, and presented at international business and sustainability conferences including the Global Citizen Forum.
Known for his practical, execution-driven approach, Grant speaks candidly about both successes and failures. His work emphasizes that sustainability must move beyond intention and marketing to become embedded into products, partnerships, and revenue models. His core message is clear: government and nonprofits cannot solve today’s environmental challenges alone. Businesses must lead, and when sustainability is designed correctly, it drives ROI, resilience, and meaningful global impact.
