Michael is the Interim Executive Director of the Green Sports Alliance, where he leads operations and advances the organization’s strategy and mission to leverage the power of sports to promote healthy, sustainable communities where we live, work, and play. Previously, he served as Senior Director of Operations and Advisory Services, leading initiatives such as the annual Summit, Playbooks, and Symposiums. He also directs sustainability for major events such as the College Football Playoff National Championship.
Before joining the Alliance, Michael founded two sustainability-focused companies that continue to serve partners nationwide. At Food Loops, established in 2017, he catalyzed circular solutions for venues and events, achieving industry-leading diversion rates and advancing circularity for over 200 North American events and more than 50 properties. These included major events such as NCAA March Madness, NASCAR races, and the CycloCross World Championships, as well as properties like Tyson Headquarters and Walmart cafeterias.
Michael holds his LEED AP BD+C and is a TRUE Advisor.
