David A. Thomas recently retired as Global Head of Security for Gulfstream Aerospace, where he led enterprise security operations supporting a global aerospace and defense environment. In this role, he oversaw insider threat, protective intelligence, executive protection, and travel security programs, ensuring the protection of personnel, facilities, and sensitive, export-controlled information in alignment with national security and defense industry standards.
Prior to joining Gulfstream, Mr. Thomas served as Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Columbia Division in South Carolina. Over a distinguished FBI career, he held several senior leadership roles, including Deputy Executive Assistant Director of the Science and Technology Branch at FBI Headquarters, and Chief of units responsible for counterterrorism, counterintelligence, criminal, and cyber investigations.
Mr. Thomas is a recognized subject matter expert in cybercrime and the application of forensic and investigative capabilities to counter evolving threats. His experience spans the intersection of cyber and physical security, with a focus on protecting critical infrastructure, intellectual property, and global operations from nation-state and insider threats.
He is known for translating complex threat environments into practical strategies that enable organizations to operate securely in an increasingly dynamic global risk landscape.
