Dr. Barney Long is Senior Director of Conservation Strategies at Re:wild, overseeing the global thematic programs of Endangered Species Recovery, Protected Area Management, Wildlife Crime Prevention, Restoration and Rewilding, and Exploration. Barney works on the conservation of highly endangered species and the site management and thematic approaches required to achieve their recovery. He has worked extensively in the field on a variety of species, and now supports multiple species conservation efforts, including rhinos, primates, amphibians, freshwater fish, sharks, small mammals, tortoises, and freshwater turtles. Barney is a strong believer in the power of partnerships for conservation and works extensively with the IUCN Species Survival Commission, SMART, Reverse the Red, Red List, and Extinct in the Wild partnerships.
