David Staack is currently Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research at the Texas A&M University System. In this position he works with the 12 Universities and 8 state agencies of the Texas A&M University System in advancing their research portfolios. Major projects include establishing the Texas A&M Semiconductor Institute, establishing the STEM Education and Research Center, and leading the Energy Proving Grounds and Nuclear Initiatives collaborative developments on RELLIS campus.
Dr. Staack is also currently faculty in Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M in the general areas of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and reacting flows.  He research focuses electron beams and plasmas for materials processing, aerospace and energy applications.
