Athena Frasca is the Watershed Restoration Coordinator for the Bringing Baffin Back initiative at the Harte Research Institute, Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi. She leads implementation of an EPA-accepted Watershed Protection Plan for Baffin Bay to advance restoration and water quality improvement projects across the watershed and ecosystem. Her work centers on building partnerships, bringing together landowners, anglers, nonprofits, and agency partners to implement collaborative, watershed-scale projects. Athena grew up on a small family farm in central Kentucky, where she developed an early connection to working lands and stewardship that continues to shape her approach to conservation. She holds a B.A. in Biology from Grinnell College, where she focused on tallgrass prairie restoration and sustainable agriculture, and has hands-on experience in land management, prescribed fire, and community outreach through work with The Nature Conservancy and AmeriCorps. She is particularly interested in advancing conservation initiatives through strong partnerships and strategic funding. Outside of work, Athena enjoys printmaking, gardening, and exploring the outdoors with friends, family, and her dog.
