Bertrand Deleuse is Chief Financial Officer of Water Garden Farms (WGF), a purpose-driven company advancing climate-resilient food production and water security through AI-powered, fully automated precision-agriculture facilities that grow crops in controlled-environment greenhouses.
WGF is building a next-generation indoor agriculture platform through a global strategic alliance with Siemens, integrating digital-twin AI, advanced automation, and data-driven optimization to dramatically improve crop yields, resource efficiency, food safety, and unit economics at scale. The company engineered out the fundamental flaws of vertical farming by designing a model that harnesses natural sunlight within an optimized controlled environment in horizontal greenhouses. WGF is design to localize resilient food supply, materially lower food prices, and substantially reduce water use, waste, and carbon emissions; thus strengthening U.S. food and national security.
With over 25 years of experience across mergers & acquisitions, venture growth, impact investing, and sustainable infrastructure, Bertrand brings a multidisciplinary perspective shaped by institutional and C-level roles. He began his career in investment banking with Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and Lehman Brothers in New York, later joining Rothschild & Co. in New York and Paris, where he advised strategic and institutional investors on cross border M&A transactions.
He later founded EarthEnergy Partners, a strategic advisory firm working with ventures, family offices, corporates, and institutional investors committed to building a sustainable future. Throughout his career, Bertrand has managed over 100 transactions and investments representing more than $16 billion in aggregate value. He also led the development and financing of over 900 MW of renewable-energy assets across Asia, Latin America, and the U.S., collaborating with corporations, private investment funds, governments, development finance institutions, and nonprofit organizations.
His leadership approach is shaped by his upbringing in the French Alps, early work with marine biologists, and the conviction that we share one planet, one human family, and finite resources. These values guide his work at WGF , where his team builds public-private partnerships and mobilizes global capital markets toward decarbonization, food security, and water conservation at scale. Bertrand is fluent in English, French, Italian, and Spanish.
Beyond WGF , Bertrand serves on the Advisory Boards of Live to Love, an NGO empowering indigenous Himalayan communities through education, healthcare, and cultural preservation; and Alimentary Systems, a New Zealand–based waste-to-energy company transforming organic waste into clean energy through modular bioenergy infrastructure. He is a Board Member of Three Roots, an integrative wellness company bridging Tibetan medical traditions with modern health practices. Known for his relationship-driven leadership, analytical rigor, and cross-cultural perspective, he brings a lifelong dedication to meditation, spirituality, and environmental and social stewardship
