Kelli and Bob Phillips have spent their professional lives creating content in television, radio, print, web and social media for their viewers, listeners and followers. Currently, they produce and host a weekly program and podcast on The Audacy Network called "Own the Road with Kelli and Bob."
Kelli started doing TV, radio and print work for businesses in the Texas Gulf Coast area at the age of 14, and became the youngest host of Evening Magazine in the country at 18 when her mother sent her resume to the San Antonio CBS affiliate without Kelli knowing about it. She got the job and never looked back. Since then, she has worked in radio, print, television and, now, the podcast world as well. Kelli loves telling a good story and making it relevant to her followers.
Like Kelli, Bob Phillips started at a young age when he landed a job at the CBS affiliate in Dallas, Texas, while still a freshman in college. He went on to become a news photographer, reporter, producer, director and anchor. He also traveled extensively with The Dallas Cowboys for 13 years and was on the sidelines for every game played during that time, including three Super Bowls. He also shot sidelines film for NFL Films. In 1972, Bob created the TV show “Texas Country Reporter” and produced and hosted it for 52 years, making it the longest running independently produced television show in worldwide TV history. Kelli and Bob sold that show in 2024 to start a new venture
Today, Bob and Kelli travel all 50 states of the U.S. in search of stories about good people doing good things that make our world a better place. You can hear those stories via their show “Own the Road with Kelli and Bob” on the Audacy Radio Network and on all the podcast platforms.
In May 2025, the two celebrated Texas storytellers were named GO TEXAN Brand Ambassadors, promoting Texas’ agricultural heritage and local businesses under the leadership of Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller. In this role, they bring decades of experience in showcasing the heart and spirit of the Lone Star State to the Texas Department of Agriculture’s GO TEXAN program.
