Christian Biedenharn is a rancher and partnerships lead at Grassroots Carbon, where he works directly with landowners to implement regenerative grazing systems and participate in soil carbon markets. Grassroots Carbon is one of the leading soil carbon developers in the United States, with more than 2.3 million acres enrolled since 2021 and over $45 million paid to ranchers, a figure that continues to grow each year.Prior to joining Grassroots Carbon, Christian worked with Soilworks Natural Capital, a private equity group focused on demonstrating regenerative grazing as a profitable and scalable ranching model. His work focused on the intersection of land management, capital, and long-term asset value.In addition to his professional role, Christian operates his family’s ranch in La Salle County, South Texas, where he lives with his wife and son and manages over 10,000 acres. As both a producer and a participant in the Grassroots Carbon program, he brings a practical, firsthand perspective to the opportunities and tradeoffs ranchers face today.His experience spans regenerative agriculture, carbon markets, and land-based investment, with a focus on strengthening rural economies and advancing the economics of conservation while helping landowners navigate evolving opportunities across oil and gas activity, renewable energy development, and emerging natural capital markets.
