Angela Betancourt is a global communications professional with over 20 years of experience and having worked on various projects across five continents. She is the Founder and CEO of Betancourt Group, a communications and marketing firm amplifying individuals, businesses, and organizations driving positive environmental and social impact.
From 2015 to 2017, Angela served as the Communications Manager for Sierra Leone Opportunities for Business Action (SOBA), a UK Aid-funded post-Ebola private sector development program. There, she led the communications strategy for the Sierra Leone Energy Revolution, the country’s first renewable energy conference attended by the President of Sierra Leone and a UK Minister.
Throughout her career, Angela has worked with leading organizations, including The Nature Conservancy, UKAID, Red Cross, MTV, Dunkin Donuts, Fairmont Hotels, Renaissance Hotels, and multiple Grammy Award-winning artists, helping them tell powerful stories, increase mindshare, and expand market share. Her clients have been featured in Entrepreneur, Newsweek, Forbes, Inc., Good Morning America, and National Geographic, among hundreds of regional and international outlets.
Angela holds a Master’s degree in Global Strategic Communications from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Barry University. She was a 2018 Georgetown-Santander Fellow in Social Economy and is certified in Market Systems Development and Monitoring & Evaluation.
An avid scuba diver, ocean advocate, public speaker, and world traveler, Angela draws inspiration from her family, her military service, and the adventure of motherhood as she helps shape a more sustainable and connected world through storytelling.
